WESC – 29 February 2012

On Wednesday 29th February we have our next demo ride at Trafalgar Square.

Please arrive 17:30 @ Villiers Street for 18:00 departure.

With all eyes now slowly turning to both the Mayoral race followed by the Olympics, now more than ever do we need to make our presence felt on the streets. Our message has always been simple & clear – motorcycles are part of the SOLUTION to inner-city congestion & pollution, and not part of the problem. Edward “Eddy” Warburton Memorial Ride

Eddy Warburton, a passionate supporter of the NTBPT campaign and a life-long biker, suffered a fatal heart attack on Jan 25th while attending our rideout to Westminster City Council’s meeting at The Old Marylebone Town Hall.

Eddy was also a long time supporter of another organisation, giving up his time for over 25 years to the Hillingdon Narrowboat Association, who have made their tribute here: http://www.hna.org.uk/

It is fitting, therefore, that our Memorial ride in his honour will involve a ride to Harefield in Hertfordshire, home of the Hillingdon Narrowboat Association, culminating in a trip on the canals in the boats he spent so much time looking after.

The rideout will take place on Saturday 10 March 2012, setting off from Villiers Street at midday. We hope to see you there.

I am sure all at NTBPT are pleased for the businesses and workers of Westminster and are relieved that such a destructive policy has failed.
